KIU, Main Campus - On Thursday, September 12th, 2024, KIU received medical models from Hubei Polythechnic College aims to strengthen the professional competencies of nursing faculty and students, preparing them to meet international standards in nursing care.
During the receiving ceremony, KIU was represented by Dr. Mundu Mustafa, the DVC Finance and Administration, Dr. Jacob Ashibi, DVC Academic Affairs, and Ms. Christine Aiyeboona, the Campus Administrator.
In his welcome remarks, Dr. Mustafa thanked the team from Hubei Polythechnic College who joined online for their generous donation of the medical models to KIU.
"These models will enhance the practical training of our nurses. We have the following nursing programmes in certificate, diploma, bachelors and at master's level", he said.
According to Mr Khan from Sunmaker Energy (U) Ltd (“Sunmaker”), a company dedicated to providing comprehensive professional training, personnel and human resource services.
"This milestone marks a significant step towards building a robust framework for nursing education at KIU, fostering an environment of continuous learning and professional development in collaboration with Hubei"

KIU School of Nursing Sciences started in 2002 at Main Campus in Kampala, and later moved to the Western Campus after the construction of KIU Teaching Hospital. The School of Nursing Sciences is attached to KIU teaching hospital where students are placed for clinical experience.
